Corrosion inhibition mechanism
The N on the heterocyclic alkyl pyridin ring has a pair of isolated electrons, which combine with the benzene ring structure to transform N into an active group. It can be adsorbed on the metal surface through various pathways such as electrostatic adsorption and the formation of valence bonds. The alkyl groups on the ring are non polar, and these groups between molecules form a hydrophobic adsorption layer through cohesion, which adheres to the surface of the steel sample and separates the corrosive medium from the metal surface, preventing the anodic or cathodic processes from proceeding. After quaternization, it contains quaternary ammonium cations, which are more easily adsorbed on the metal surface to form an adsorption film, exhibiting excellent corrosion inhibition effects.
Scope of use
Composite pyridin quaternary ammonium salts can be used as corrosion inhibitor intermediates to produce a series of corrosion inhibitor products according to different compounding processes, which are applied to oilfield acid fracturing, oilfield reinjection water, oil and gas gathering and transportation, and oil and gas well casing corrosion inhibitors. They can also be used in fields such as refinery series corrosion inhibitors and acid washing corrosion inhibitors in chemical cleaning.
