Description: L-carnosine is a naturally occurring compound containing histidine, and the biological role of this dipeptide is to act as a cellular solute buffer. Other roles of L-carnosine include acting as a neurotransmitter, regulation of enzyme activity, and chelation of heavy metals.
Application: Levocarnosine has potential antioxidant and anti-glycosylation activity. It is also a substrate for carnosinase detection, which can maintain the pH balance of the body and extend the life of cells.
