Introduce
Zinc pyrithione is also known as zinc pyrithione, zinc pyrithione, and zinc omadine. This zinc complex was synthesized as early as the 1930s and used as an external antifungal or antibacterial agent. It is white to yellow crystalline powder at room temperature. Slightly characteristic odor. Insoluble in water. Zinc pyrithione forms insoluble precipitates with cationic and nonionic surfactants, which are unstable to light and oxidants, and unstable to acids and alkalis at higher temperatures. It is not compatible with EDTA, and non-ionic surfactants can partially inactivate it. In the presence of heavy metals, chelation or anti-chelation will occur, and these chelates are difficult to dissolve in water.
Usage
It has strong killing power on fungi and bacteria, can effectively kill the fungi that produce dandruff, and play an anti-dandruff effect. It is used as an anti-dandruff agent and bactericide in cosmetics, and is widely used as an anti-dandruff shampoo.
