1. Mainly used in the food and industrial industries. The main applications in the food industry are:
(1) Sodium hexametaphosphate is used in meat products, fish sausages, ham, etc. It can improve water retention, increase adhesion, and prevent fat oxidation;
(2) Used in soy sauce and soy sauce to prevent discoloration, increase viscosity, shorten fermentation period, and regulate taste;
(3) Used for fruit drinks and refreshing beverages, it can increase juice yield, increase viscosity, and inhibit the decomposition of vitamin C;
(4) Used in ice cream, it can improve swelling capacity, increase volume, enhance emulsifying effect, prevent paste damage, and improve taste and color;
(5) For dairy products and beverages to prevent gel precipitation;
(6) Adding beer can clarify the liquor and prevent turbidity;
(7) Used for canned beans, fruits and vegetables, can stabilize natural pigments and protect food color;
(8) Spraying sodium hexametaphosphate aqueous solution onto cured meat can improve its anti-corrosion performance.

(1) Sodium hexametaphosphate can be heated with sodium fluorid‘e to produce sodium monofluorophosphate, which is an important industrial raw material;
(2) Sodium hexametaphosphate, as a water softener, plays a role in softening water when used in dyeing and finishing;
(3) Sodium hexametaphosphate is also widely used as a scale inhibitor in water treatment industries such as EDI (resin electrodialysis), RO (reverse osmosis), NF (nanofiltration), etc.
