Ethylene glycol butyl ether is one of the important derivatives of ethylene oxide (EO). It is a green solvent, colorless liquid, molecular weight 118.17, distillation range 163~174ºC, non-volatile, relative density 0.9019, boiling point 171.1 ºC, flash point 60.5ºC, toxic, miscible with water and hydrocarbon solvents of linseed oil, and has a strong ability to dissolve synthetic rubber, suitable for natural rubber and synthetic rubber solvent, also used as rosin, Solvent for shellac, shell pine resin and indene resin, ethyl fiber and nitrocellulose.
1. 2 Butoxyethanol is used as a solvent for paints, inks, metal cleaner components and raw materials for dye dispersants
2. 2 Butoxyethanol is mainly used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, spray paint, quick-drying paint, varnish, enamel and paint remover. It can also be used as fiber wetting agent, pesticide dispersant, resin plasticizer, organic synthesis intermediate. Reagent for determination of iron and molybdenum. Auxiliary solvent for improving emulsification and dissolving mineral oil in soap.
