1,2-Benzoisothiazol-3-one (BIT) is a simple derivative of isothiazolinone. Due to its good thermal stability (thermal decomposition temperature above 300 ºC), it is beneficial for corrosion prevention. Moreover, due to its advantages such as high efficiency, low toxicity, and easy degradation, it has attracted widespread attention from experts in the fields of biology, medicine, and chemistry.
BIT is a major industrial disinfectant, anti-corrosion, and enzyme inhibitor that has a prominent inhibitory effect on the growth of microorganisms such as mold and algae in organic media. It can solve a series of problems caused by microbial growth, such as organic product mold, fermentation, spoilage, demulsification, and odor, and is widely used in fields such as sterilization and marine pollution prevention. Developed countries widely use BIT in latex products, water-soluble tree chemicalbook resin, coatings (latex paint), and polymers. In products such as polyurethane products, photographic lotions, paper making, ink, leather, lubricants, etc.
