PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

It is an important chemical product and raw material. It is mainly used as dehydrating agent and cleaning agent in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics, perfumes, coatings and electronic industries. It is a determination reagent of products such as barium, calcium, magnesium, nickel, potassium, sodium, and barium. It is also a chromatographic reference material for the electronics industry. In many industrial and consumer products, isopropyl alcohl is used as a low-cost solvent and also as an extractant. The European Solvent Industry Group (ESIG) stated that in 2001, the demand for European intermediates accounted for 32% of the isopropyl alcol consumption, 14% of isopropano'l was used as anti-icing agent, 13% was used for paint and resin, and 9% was used for drugs, 4% for food and 3% for inks and adhesives. Isopropano'l is also used as a solvent for oils and colloids, as well as in the manufacture of fishmeal feed concentrates. Low-quality isopropyl alcoho'l is used in automotive fuels. The amount of isopropyl alcoho'l used as a raw material for aceton'e production is decreasing. Several compounds are synthesized using isopropano'l, such as methyl isobutyl keton'e and many esters. Different qualities of isopropano'l can be supplied depending on the end use. The conventional quality of anhydrous isopropyl alcoho'l is more than 99%, while the specific grade isopropyl alcoho'l content is more than 99.8% (for perfumes and medicines). It can be used to produce aceton'e, diisopropy'l ether, isopropyl acetat'e and thymol and so on. In many cases it can be used to replace ethanol.
