DEMAP is a rose-red solid or flaky chemical that is mainly used in dye intermediates.

USAGE
1. Core Intermediate in Dye Industry: It is a key raw material for synthesizing various important dyes, such as Rhodamine B in basic dyes (a commonly used red fluorescent dye widely applied in textiles, printing, and biological staining) and acid red dyes. The hydroxyl and diethylamino groups in its molecule can serve as reactive sites, combining with other compounds to form dye molecules with specific colors and dyeing properties.
2. Raw Material for Fluorescent Whitening Agent Synthesis: Specifically used in the production of coumarin-type fluorescent whitening agents. These whitening agents are widely used in fields such as paper, plastics, and textile fibers. They can absorb ultraviolet light and emit blue fluorescence, offsetting the yellowish tint of the substrate and enhancing the whiteness and gloss of the product.
3. Other Extended Applications: In organic synthesis, it can act as a reducing agent and catalyst to assist in certain chemical reactions.
