Povidone iodine is a porous complex formed by the combination of elemental iodine and polymer carrier. Povidone acts as carrier and solubilizer. Normal temperature is yellow brown to brown red amorphous powder. Slight odor, soluble in water or ethanol, aqueous solution is acidic. Povidone iodine solution has no shortcomings of iodine tincture, light coloring, easy elution, little mucosal irritation, no need for ethanol deiodination, no corrosion, and low toxicity.
Application:
1. It is used for purulent dermatitis, skin fungal infections, small-area mild burns and scalds, and also for the disinfection of small-area skin and mucous membrane wounds.
2. Bacterial, fungal vaginitis, cervical erosion, trichomonal vaginitis, genital itching, genital infection, odor, leucorrhea, yellow odor, comprehensive genital inflammation, senile vaginitis, herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis and condyloma acuminatum Prevention and local treatment disinfection.
3. Disinfection of balanitis, dermatitis, external genitalia and surrounding areas. Prevention and local treatment and disinfection of gonorrhea, syphilis, and condyloma acuminatum.
4. Disinfection of tableware and utensils.
5. Disinfect the skin of the surgical site.
