D-phenylglycine methyl ester is an important intermediate in the synthesis of ce faclor and am picillin. Ce faclor and am picillin are semi-synthetic second-generation cephalosporins with antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial activity similar to cef azolin. They are mainly used in the treatment of otitis media, lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, skin and skin tissue infection, and can inhibit all haemophilus influenzae bacteria. Including strains resistant to am picillin. Although the process reported in the synthesis patent is simple, the final product is D-phenylglycine methyl ester hydrochloride, and the synthesis of cephalox and am picillin requires desalination, which brings cumbersome processes to the subsequent synthesis, so the free D-phenylglycine methyl ester can be obtained at low cost and has commercial value.
