Benzyl benzoate is one of the older preparations used to treat scabies. Scabies is a skin infection caused by the mite sarcoptes scabiei. It is characterised by severe itching (particularly at night), red spots, and may lead to a secondary infection. Benzyl benzoate is lethal to this mite and so is useful in the treatment of scabies. It is also used to treat lice infestation of the head and body. Benzyl benzoate is not the treatment of choice for scabies due to its irritant properties.

Application:

1. Use as a solvent and a fragrance, also used for perfume modulation
2. Use for the musk solvent and fragrance of the fragrance, camphor substitutes, but also for the preparation of pertussis
3. Use in the essence, especially in the floral type is a good fragrance, thinner or solvent. In the heavy floral and oriental flavor and late incense jade, ylang ylang, lilac, gardenia and other incense, can be used as a modifier. It is also a stabilizer for high-carbon aldehyde or alcohol flavors and is a good solvent for certain solid perfumes. In the consumption of flavor formula is also commonly used as a fragrance.
4. Use GB 2760-1996 provides for the use of edible spices. For use as a fragrance. Mainly used for the preparation of Yang Li, cherry and other berries flavor.
5. Uses can be used as cellulose, varnish and PVC plasticizer, fine preparation of flavors, whooping cough, but also for musk fragrant and camphor substitutes.
6. Use of cellulose acetate and artificial musk solvent, fixed fragrance, plasticizer. Acaricides.
