Applications:
Hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP) is a new type of chlorine-free electroplating complexing agent. It is used as the main agent for water quality stabilization in circulating cooling water systems and has the functions of corrosion inhibition and scale prevention. This product is one of the organic polyphosphonic acid water treatment agents. There are also some other domestic products of this kind, such as amino trimethylene phosphonic acid (ATMP): [CH2PO(OH)2]3N and ethylenediaminetetramethylene phosphonic acid (EDTMP), etc. Organic polyphosphonic acids are a kind of water treatment agents developed in the late 1960s and confirmed around the 1970s. The emergence of such treatment agents has taken water treatment technology a big step forward. Compared with organic polyphosphates, organic polyphosphonic acids have better chemical stability, are not easily hydrolyzed, can withstand higher temperatures, have smaller dosages, and have both corrosion inhibition and scale prevention properties. It is a kind of cathodic corrosion inhibitor and also a kind of non-stoichiometric scale inhibitor. When used in combination with other water treatment agents, it shows an ideal synergistic effect. It has excellent chelating ability for many metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, etc., and even has a better deactivating effect on metal inorganic salts such as CaSO4, CaCO3, MgSiO3, etc. Therefore, it is widely used in water treatment technology.
