2. Used for bleaching cotton fabrics and organic materials. It is used as reducing agent in dyestuff, papermaking, leather making and chemical synthesis. The pharmaceutical industry is used in the production of analgin and aminopyrine intermediates. Food grade products are used as bleach, preservatives, and antioxidants. Sodium bisulfit e is a reducing bleach permitted in China.
